SensePost brings training to the Gulf region.

SensePost, the consulting arm of UK-based independent cyber security consultancy and managed services provider, SecureData, has joined forces with the Infosec Center in Bahrain to extend its security training capabilities to the Gulf region.

According to SensePost, the soaring number of cyber threats, together with limited security resources within organisations and an increasingly stringent regulatory environment, has put pressure on security practitioners to grow their skills and find new ways to fight off attackers.

SensePost previously worked with a variety of partners, including BlackHat, to deliver high-end training sessions across the US, Europe and Asia.

The partnership will enable SensePost to share cyber security knowledge and deliver training sessions to professionals in the wider industry across the UAE and the Middle East, at Infosec Center's Security Operating Center.

Infosec Center will advertise and promote the training sessions to the local community, with SensePost acting as delivery partner, supplying the instructors.

Attendees will benefit from relevant, up-to-date and challenging courses, delivered by a local partner with the presence, infrastructure and knowledge of the region. The courses, which are based on international standards and SensePost research and experience, include hacking infrastructure, black ops and corporate-level security.

Shane Kemp, sales manager at SensePost, says his organisation previously conducted training in Oman and Dubai. "It was clear while we were out there that there's a huge hunger to learn from professionals in the region. We're now in a place where we can offer more services and really invest in building up cyber capabilities in the Gulf region."

Two initial training sessions have been set up at the centre, running from 15 to 18 October, which will provide a mix of practical exercises and theory work. The courses are aimed at individuals with an intermediate to advanced level of cyber security knowledge.
