Hitachi Vantara, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, has appointed Dennis Naidoo as GM and sales director of Hitachi Vantara South Africa.

Hitachi Vantara guides organisations on digital transformation initiatives and helps them solve digital challenges. The company says more than 80% of the Fortune 100 firms utilise its services to help them develop new revenue streams, unlock competitive advantages and lower costs, through innovative use of technology.

Naidoo has been with Hitachi Vantara since October 2017, with previous roles within the company as director of Professional Services (2018) and director of Global Solutions Services Business for Sub-Saharan Africa (2017).

In his new role, he is tasked with aligning Hitachi Vantara’s sales and account teams, while expanding the company’s footprint to new territories within SA.

Throughout his career, Naidoo has amassed experience in management, consulting, training, recruitment, marketing, budgeting and the public sector, according to Hitachi Vantara.

“Naidoo brings over 25 years of industry experience to his new role and we are confident his appointment will strengthen our business considerably,” says Richard Bradbury, VP and GM for Hitachi Vantara, EMEA North.

“He has successfully built sustainable customer-facing teams and has a proven track record in large, complex deals, both in the public and private sector. His wealth of expertise will prove invaluable in helping to accelerate local business growth and drive greater levels of excellence within our sales team.”

Moving forward, Hitachi Vantara says it plans to double up on introducing solutions that form part of its core portfolio, such as content platform and object solutions, Hitachi Ops Center Analyser and artificial intelligence solutions for IT operations.

The company says it is also focusing on laying a solid foundation for multi-year growth, in three key areas: converged and hyper-converged solutions, software and containerisation solutions.

Naidoo says his long-term objectives are premised on three pillars: “The first of these is keeping customers happy through managing the company’s growth and retaining key customers. Secondly, maintaining a happy team and ecosystem. Finally, my third objective is achieving sustainable growth, which is really a natural by-product of the first two objectives.

“I am extremely confident in the capabilities of our company, our people and our partners. I believe this proposition, combined with our excellent teams, will add real value to our country’s business arena.”

Through proactive actions and a pioneering mind-set, Naidoo is of the view that Hitachi Vantara has a tremendous opportunity to help its customers and partners to innovate, even during this challenging period as SA fights the spread of the coronavirus.
