ITWeb Cloud Summit 2019: call for papers is open

Johannesburg, 19 Oct 2018

ITWeb has announced that Cloud Summit 2019 will be held on 12 February 2019 at The Forum, in Bryanston, and the call for papers is now open.

"ITWeb's Cloud Summit has become the primary forum for business technology decision-makers, strategists and practitioners across Africa to discuss new tools and advances in the practice of cloud computing," says Angela Mace, CRM and Events director at ITWeb.

Gartner has predicted worldwide public cloud revenue will grow 21.4% in 2018, and a significant portion of incremental new ICT spend will be earmarked for cloud.

Book your seat today to attend the annual ITWeb Cloud Summit 2019, to held on 12 February, at The Forum in Bryanston. During the one-day event, expert speakers will share information and insight on all aspects of cloud computing, including cloud services, delivery models, benefits, security, adoption, strategies and evolutions. Attendance is free, click here to find out more.

"There's no doubt that cloud computing has become mainstream. Nearly every large corporation has at least one cloud migration initiative on the go at the moment, and the same is true of their smaller counterparts," Mace continues.

"Some, however, are still exploring the possibilities, looking to transform their operations and infrastructure, while becoming more responsive to changing trends.

"Businesses cannot afford to ignore the cloud, and those that do, do so at their peril. In a world where every savvy business is looking to digital transformation to remain competitive, benefits such as subscription-based payment models, greater elasticity in infrastructure consumption, improved agility and faster deployment of applications simply cannot be overlooked."

The ITWeb Cloud Summit will cut though the hype to identify cloud adoption and migration best practices, as well as the new hyperscale cloud opportunities. It will delve beyond the usual tools and solutions covered by cloud events around the globe, focusing on issues that are most relevant to SA business reality.

"We will be examining issues such as how hybrid solutions are becoming ubiquitous, how UX is harnessing cloud to deliver seamless customer experiences, and how organisations are looking to democratise the cloud so that its benefits can be harnessed by enterprises and SMEs alike," adds Mace.

"ITWeb's Cloud Summit attracts delegates from across the breadth of the cloud computing business chain, from prospective private and public sector customers to cloud service providers and the wider cloud industry."
