NEC XON has appointed renowned managed services specialist Mariëtte Hattingh as GM of Services to modernise its managed services portfolio into 4IR-relevant solutions for its clients.

Hattingh has more than 30 years of experience in client and managed service provider environments leading large and complex outsource relationships, transformational change and business turnaround.

“We set off to challenge the status quo and disrupt the niche markets in which we operate for the benefit of our customers. Mariette’s appointment further entrenches this agenda with her client-centric approach and transformational outsourcing experience,” says Viven Bhowani, COO of NEC XON. “She is a strong leader and has great know-how around transforming services digitally to drive outcomes-based engagements. Mariette brings a wealth of skills in best-practice, driving commercial innovation and driving service transformation through technology to enable NEC XON to lead the evolution of managed services for the fourth industrial revolution.”

Hattingh built her career in some of South Africa’s largest managed services providers where she delivered services into customers such as SAB, Edcon, Tiger Brands and RTT to name a few. For ABInBev, she executed transformational outsourcing for seven primary infrastructure-based services where she consolidated multiple contracts into a service aggregation model.

“My vision for NEC XON is to enhance the managed services we deliver and uniquely differentiate it based on the portfolio of alternative energy, networking and telecommunications, security, data centres and infrastructure solutions across South, East and West Africa,” says Hattingh. “That integrated spectrum of solutions is unavailable elsewhere in these markets and positions our ability to deliver services specifically relevant to our telco and MNO service provider, enterprise and public sector customers.”

She says she will marshal NEC XON’s managed service capability into value-based outsourcing that creates a roadmap to enhancing outcomes for customers. Customers are looking for trusted advisors and strategic partners who can help them be relevant, realise their digital transformation strategies, transition to cloud and hybrid cloud, and support innovative operations in regions with low infrastructure availability.
