South Africa is seeing a growth of hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, especially for small and midsized businesses, says DCC.

Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has been appointed as an official distributor for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) vendor Syneto's products.

The appointment will see Syneto entering the South African market via DCC, which will offer Syneto's complete range of HCI solutions.

Raul Del Fabbro, enterprise solutions manager for DCC, says Syneto brings the benefits of its HYPERSeries to DCC's customers and small and midsize business (SMB) across the region, Also, the Syneto products will significantly enhance DCC's hyperconverged portfolio and ability to provide their reseller partners with HCI solutions, adds DCC.

"Hyperconvergence is becoming an increasingly important technology solution in the South African channel, says Fabbro. The country is seeing growth of HCI solutions especially from SMB that have made the decision to refresh their IT infrastructure, or the corporate that requires a 'no-skills', cost-saving infrastructure at the branch or remote office."

With the advent of technology, almost every business demands more from their existing IT functionalities, along with better, faster, more reliable, and more secure services, along with the optimum level of overall system efficiency, which further drives the growth of the hyperconverged infrastructure market, says Markets and Markets.

Globally, rising usage of virtualisation, increasing need of data protection and disaster recovery, low capital expenditure and total cost of ownership are the prime growth drivers of hyper-converged infrastructure market, says Research and Markets.

Development of technologies to create high value hyperconverged infrastructure and increase in adoption of the technology in emerging economies such as China, India and others, is expected to create new opportunities for the market, it adds.

However, the higher cost of the research and development and demerits of bundled solutions are the key restraints for hyperconverged infrastructure market, says Research and Market. Fabbro notes the HCI solutions are often associated with large enterprise organisations and prohibitively high costs.

"The Syneto HYPERSeries provides solutions that meet the needs of smaller organisations, at a price point that makes the move to HCI highly justifiable, both in terms of purchase price and operating costs".

Globally, hyperconverged infrastructures are becoming increasingly adopted by organisations of all sizes, to improve system performance, simplify their back-end systems, cut down on power usage and rack space, says Rick Dudson, vice president of sales EMEA for Syneto.

"Analyst firm Gartner predicts the market for hyper-converged systems will grow 79%, taking up 24% of the IT infrastructure market by 2019. Furthermore the market for hyperconverged systems is predicted to be the fastest growing in the IT sector (26%), estimated to be worth about $7 billion (R98 million) by 2020, adds Gartner.
