Domains.co.za is the latest business to offer SnapScan as a payments option.
Users will now be able to purchase domain names and hosting services using the app.
Over 25 000 businesses across the country make use of the South African app that allows for cardless and cashless secure payments, through the use of QR codes.
"Financial security is the number one concern in online purchasing," says Wayne Diamond, Domains.co.za MD.
"Clients can now securely purchase domain names and hosting services with no bank account details or credit card information ever being exchanged."
He says Domains.co.za is the first South African ISP and hosting provider to enable SnapScan as a payment method.
SnapScan is a free app available on Android and iOS smartphones. After downloading, linked card details are securely encrypted on the device and no merchant has access to these details.
To pay using SnapScan, users need to open the app and then scan the QR code on screen. This identifies the merchant and prompts users to enter the amount they wish to pay. A PIN is then asked for before the transaction is complete. The merchant receives a notification confirming the payment from SnapScan.
