Portia Lindiwe Simelane is a renowned IT Governance practitioner with over 17 years multi-industry experience in Governance, Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, Management of Audits, IT Disaster Recovery, Data Governance, Supplier Management and the Protection of Personal Information Act. Portia has recently joint Old Mutual Insure as the Head of IT Governance and Commercial. Prior to this appointment, she was the Group Manager: IT Governance and Resilience at the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). Other organisations Portia worked for in the past include Deloitte Consulting, Absa and SARS. Portia is passionate about governance and assists organisations and colleagues to understand the strategic and business benefits of IT Governance. She believes that a well-designed governance culture can assist organisations to achieve their strategic objectives in a sustainable way.
