Local location intelligence company, ST Group, has partnered with Spatial IQ, a Zimbabwean geographic information system consultancy, to deliver spatial technology and skills to Zimbabwe's government, mining, and telecommunication sectors.

According to Kingray Gowera, MD of Spatial IQ, no problem or solution exists independent of context. “By providing the much-needed spatial context through industry standards, tools and solutions, the partnership with ST Group will assist organisations in Zimbabwe to spatially enable their businesses.”

The agreement allows for the integration of both companies' solutions and the development of spatially intelligent systems utilising technologies on platforms such as .NET, SQL Server and Crystal Reports. All these offerings will be supported by end-user training, claims ST Group.

“The partnership allows ST Group to extend its footprint in Africa, providing us for the first time with a presence in Harare,” says ST Group CEO, Alan Ellis

“At its helm, the partnership enables us to proactively look at opportunities in the government, telecommunication, and mining sectors of the country. That is, we can now conduct business hands-on,” he concludes.
