ContinuitySA offers new ISO 27001 Lead Implementer training in Johannesburg

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2020

ContinuitySA has announced dates for a new PECB-Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer training for 2020. Cindy Bodenstein, Marketing Manager at ContinuitySA, says the course will provide delegates with the theoretical and practical skills to support an organisation in establishing, implementing, managing and maintaining an information security management system (ISMS) based on ISO/ IEC 27001.

"In today's digital age, information security has become absolutely critical to an organisation's ability to compete successfully, and hence a key focus for regulators. Its prominence in King IV and other governance codes globally is an indication of how important this skillset is – and how many career opportunities it could open up," she says.

The five-day course will run at ContinuitySA's Waterfall campus, in Midrand, from 2-6 March and 3-7 August 2020.

Anyone involved in information security management should attend this course, Bodenstein believes.

After completing the course, delegates will be eligible to sit the three-hour PECB exam to qualify as a PECB-Certified ISO/ IEC 27001 Provisional Implementer. They will also have to sign the PECB Code of Ethics. As they accumulate more professional and ISMS project experience, they will be able to improve their certification to Implementer, Lead Implementer and Master.

"As with all PECB training, the course is very hands-on and also includes more than 450 pages of reference material, and participation counts towards 31 continuous professional development (CPD) credits," she concludes. "If necessary, the exam can be retaken within 12 months for free."

PECB is an internationally recognised certification body.
