CrowdStrike, the global leader in cloud delivered endpoint protection, has announced plans for expansion and a considerable headcount investment in the sub-Saharan African market.
Elias Matta, CrowdStrike’s Managing Director for MEA, says: “While CrowdStrike has had customers within the region for more than three years, we are seeing growing momentum in sales and a rapidly expanding customer base.”
Demand for CrowdStrike’s unique, cloud-native solutions has picked up even further as the COVID-19 pandemic drives a sudden, and often unplanned, work from home model, the company says. “With increased focus on South Africa by cyber threat actors, and the recent proliferation of breaches and ransomware attacks, businesses need to prepare themselves to defend against highly sophisticated intrusions, so they need more sophisticated cyber defence,” says Matta.
To meet the spiking demand for its Falcon Platform and offer in-country and regional support to customers and reseller partners, CrowdStrike has made the first of multiple strategic hires in South Africa, appointing Diego Garcia as the Country Manager for sub-Saharan Africa.
Garcia, with a lengthy background in information security management and sales, will support customers and partners across the region from a base in Johannesburg, backed by a strong team of engineers and cyber security specialists.
CrowdStrike will also highlight its expanded presence in South Africa as the diamond sponsor of the ITWeb Security Summit, where the company will showcase its Falcon platform, and prospective customers and resellers will have an opportunity to engage with the CrowdStrike team at a virtual stand.
CrowdStrike experts will also participate in the high-level conference, where Roland Daccache, team leader – sales engineering META at CrowdStrike, will present a keynote at Security Summit on the kill chain of the modern “Living-Off-The-Land” cyber attack, and how to stop it in its tracks at each stage of the life cycle; while Yassin Watlal, system engineering manager at CrowdStrike, will present a talk on digital transformation and its effect on cyber security in organisations.
