Far South Networks WebStack software: Web portal to the cloud

Johannesburg, 28 Feb 2019

Far South Networks has just released its new "WebStack" software, the latest release for the company's most advanced PBX system, now completely Web-enabled, taking the SME business users into the cloud.

WebStack is designed to help companies future-proof their businesses. Users can migrate towards a Web-centric business experience, while remaining as secure as ever.

According to Far South Networks MD, Grant Broomhall, WebStack addresses security as the bedrock of the service, but also includes best-of-breed Web technologies. This enables the business user to migrate towards and integrate with Web-based business tools and applications.

"The solution firstly tightens major software security aspects to ensure organisations' peace of mind, and secondly, it means that business users are now able to ensure that they are always available to their customers, while also having access to all the business tools that they are familiar with," he says.

As a company with a highly regarded reputation as a local designer and manufacturer of next-generation IP telephony platforms, Far South Networks is now taking customers on a seamless and secure journey towards a cloud-centric business experience. While WebStack, software revision 1.5 runs on Far South Networks' existing and new hardware products, it is precisely positioned to free its users from being tied to the business premises, providing its customers with a mobile office solution.

"Now they have access to all the features and functionality found within the Wanderbox and Com.X PBXes, but can now do so from anywhere in the world where they have connectivity. All additional business tools are provided as a service, so there is no huge, upfront capex cost to the business.

WebStack features worth highlighting include Wanderweb Talk (www.wanderweb.net), a unified communications as a service facility that includes individual and business contacts, instant messaging, presence and high-definition voice calling. Another feature is the integration with personal and business Web calendars, such as Google, iOS and Outlook. These ensure communications services and notifications are automatically aligned with both the business and the individual's schedules. For businesses concerned with compliance, WebStack integrates with the industry-leading, cloud-based Atmos call recording service from Call Cabinet," he continues.

Broomhall adds that WebStack also includes a Web-based user control panel with customisable dashboards and widgets. These include voicemail, presence, call history and recordings, call forwarding and contact lists.

"For the reseller and service provider, WebStack enables seamless service level agreement (SLA) delivery via pre-integrated, Web-based monitoring and maintenance tools, or, in other words, Wanderweb Connect."

Finally, points out Broomhall, the key benefit for business users is that they become totally unchained, gaining access to all their business services, securely, through the Web. Moreover, while new customers will gain access to this redefined service paradigm automatically, Far South Networks has not forgotten its thousands of existing customers.

"These clients simply need to purchase the relevant software licence in order to be able to also move into this Web-centric world.

It is also exciting to consider the WebStack product roadmap, which includes a cloud-based contact centre solution and a Web-based audio streaming service for automated delivery of business marketing and sales announcements directly to its customers."

"In essence, WebStack can be described as a best-of-breed communications solution designed to offer a business access to all their needed communication services via the principle of 'anywhere, on any device and at any time' and at a cost affordable to South African SME business owners, " concludes Broomhall.
