Far South Networks keeps businesses connected

Its range of LTE gateway and router products offers SMEs high-speed, “fibre-like” broadband connectivity for voice and data services.

A common experience in the South African business environment is the sudden loss of telephony and Internet services, either because of telecommunication line faults or copper theft. In many cases, the incumbent telecoms operator may not offer a service plan. Alternative service providers will certainly take time to bring in a new broadband connection, which may require significant capital expenditure investment into new local infrastructure. Either way, business is significantly throttled.

On the plus side, Far South Networks’ range of LTE gateway and router products offers South African SMEs high-speed, “fibre-like” broadband connectivity for voice and data services, with a roadmap of cloud services for supporting future digital migration.

As a leading South African designer and manufacturer of next-generation IP communication platforms, Far South Networks has made the process of staying connected simple and easy, by integrating a single or dual LTE Advanced radio into its “voice and data” gateway products.

According to Far South Networks MD Grant Broomhall, “If you are an SME with a digital migration plan but don’t have the budget to refurbish your office, then our LTE 'voice and data' gateway will deliver fast and reliable broadband connectivity, a suite of new business features, as well as provide a stepping stone towards integrating unified communications services into your business.”

The product replaces the traditional 2G/GSM Premicel with a multi-channel VOIP-over-LTE “voice and data” gateway, while also providing additional features such as POPI, FAIS and FICA Compliant Call Recording and music-on-hold. A best of breed, Linux-based firewall/router ensures that the business has continual security. The device will deliver PBX, call centre and unified communications services simply by adding a software licence.

These services are available in both Wanderbox and Com.X product ranges, which also include WiFi and a selection of analogue and ISDN telecoms interfaces.
