Konftel, a global leader in the manufacture of conference telephones, is now ready to begin selling its new range of packages that take all the hassle out of video conferences.
"It's high time the world's workplaces had access to simple video solutions. It's video for the people, basically," says Peter Renkel, CEO of Konftel. "Historically, video conferencing has been rather odd and convoluted, but it doesn't have to be that way. We've solved the problem in a really smart and cost-effective way."
Common to all of Konftel's new video packages is their support for Bring Your Own Meeting, where the user brings the video conference to the meeting room on his laptop. A single USB cable is all you need to connect up the speakerphone, the conference cam and the room's screen for superb sound and images during your meeting. The concept is called Konftel OCC, One Cable Connection.
Earlier this year, analysis firm Frost & Sullivan presented Konftel with a Best Practices Award, asserting in its award report* that the company is set to disrupt the traditional conference phone market with the launch of its video packages. The development work has taken longer than Konftel originally planned, but compromising on ease of use was never an option.
Anyone can use it
"We know the most important thing for a shared conferencing solution is that anyone can use it with ease," says Torbj"orn Karlsson, Product Manager at Konftel. "You need to be able to just take the orange cable on the table, plug it in and be good to go. We've therefore had a laser focus on developing cameras of the highest quality and creating a super-simple hub solution to complement the incredible audio that is such a signature of ours."
When Konftel began 30 years ago, the company was a pioneer in the market segment for conference telephones. Over the years, it has become a leading player in the market and enabled millions of distance meetings to be held all over the world with superb audio quality. Now video has reached such maturity and prevalence that it feels only natural for Konftel to expand its offer and meet customer demand.
"According to all our user tests, the market has been crying out for a solution like this, so we're extremely pleased to finally begin shipping it out to our customers," says Tommy Edlund, Director of Global Sales.
Global sales launch
Sales of Konftel's video packages, Konftel Collaboration Solutions, are now beginning globally. Products are officially available in South Africa. Small, medium and large package solutions are also available, catering for everything from small meeting rooms (huddle rooms) for up to six people to large conference rooms with 20 people.
As well as the high-performance video cameras, all the solutions include one of Konftel's award-winning speakerphones with OmniSound for crystal clear audio and a Konftel OCC Hub. Customers who already use Konftel's conference phones can simply add the video camera and Konftel OCC hub. More info on the cameras is available here: Konftel Cam20 and Konftel Cam50.
