Konftel unveils its next step in video conferencing and conference audio at ISE, ITEXPO trade shows

Johannesburg, 12 Feb 2020

Swedish-based Konftel, a global leader in products for effective distance meetings, will be previewing some of the year’s newest products at ISE 2020 in Amsterdam and ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale. The video portfolio is expanding to include Konftel CC200, an all-in-one solution comprising a conference cam with integral video codec and support for popular collaboration apps such as Teams, Zoom and Webex. The new Konftel 70 speakerphone will form a natural component of video packages for huddle rooms and medium-sized meeting rooms.

Corporate culture is in a period of rapid transition globally and this is translating into more meetings, with fewer participants and at least one person taking part remotely. In response, companies and other organisations are building huddle rooms at a dizzying pace. To meet users’ expectations, these numerous small meeting rooms need to be fully equipped for convenient video conferencing. Annual growth of 38% is forecast for this market segment between now and 2023.*

“We’re already seeing this strong market demand in relation to our USB video kit for meeting rooms of all sizes, which we launched in the fall of 2018. The step is to address the major group of customers who are calling for an all-in-one solution for video conferencing, without having to rely on the user’s laptop or a room’s PC,” says Tommy Edlund, Global Sales Director at Konftel.

The market for dedicated video conferencing equipment is expected to be twice the size of the market for conference cams with USB connection by 2023, despite the latter category having the fastest growth rate.

Immense choice

The Konftel CC200 is the first model in the company’s new product category Collaboration Cameras. It is an all-in-one device for video conferencing, which supports SIP and H.323 and so works with all standard-based video systems, equipment and video conferencing services. At the same time, it can be used directly with popular collaboration tools such as Teams, Zoom and Webex, thanks to its status as an open environment for Android apps.

“It takes no more than a few minutes to install a Konftel CC200 and there is no need to run new cables in the room. Once up and running, the user can count on sharp video and stable audio, since this dedicated video conferencing device is not reliant on the quality of a PC to function as a video platform. This ease of use will inspire employees to use video in their distance meetings, instead of just audio,” comments Torbjörn Karlsson, Product Manager at Konftel.

Konftel CC200 features in brief:

  • Camera with 4K sensor and video resolution of 1080p@30.
  • Two channels, for camera and content sharing at the same time.
  • 102° camera angle and 5x digital zoom.
  • Four built-in microphones and active sound optimisation through Konftel’s OmniSound functions.

User interface: remote control, touchscreen, bluetooth keyboard/mouse, Web interface and the mobile app Konftel Unite.

Superb audio in video conferences

The Konftel 70 speakerphone complements the company’s portfolio of USB and Bluetooth products, offering simplicity, performance and design that makes it stand out from the competition.

“We see the Konftel 70 primarily as a key component of video package solutions, along with our conference cams and the Konftel OCC hub. There is no reason to compromise on sound quality and audio performance in your video conference, just because the speakerphone uses a USB connection. Far too many meeting rooms are equipped with small and inferior audio devices, but we’re putting an end to all that,” says Torbjörn Karlsson, Product Manager at Konftel.

The Konftel 70 and the Konftel CC200 will be launched at price points that both the sales channel and end-customers will find attractive, according to Tommy Edlund, Konftel’s Global Sales Director:

“Price is an important factor in enabling companies and organisations to afford to fit out the large volume of meeting rooms involved. But naturally they don’t want to sacrifice quality and the user experience, and we have very much taken that on board as we continue to expand our convenient video conferencing offer.”

Konftel will be previewing the Konftel CC200 and Konftel 70 on stand U265 in Hall 15 at the world’s biggest AV fair, ISE in Amsterdam, from 11-14 February. At the same time, the US market will be able to view the new products on Konftel’s stand no. 521 at the ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 12-14 February.
