Intervate introduces Sticki to drive user adoption of new technology

Intervate, a leading tech company specialising in digital transformation solutions centred on user productivity, user experience, business process automation and enterprise content management solutions, has revealed its brilliant new user adoption programme, Sticki.

The programme was developed to drive agility within organisations and help them meet current business needs through technology, processes and mindset adjustment.

Aimed at medium to corporate-sized organisations (SMCs) of 300 to 1 000 employees, Sticki is a technology-agnostic programme that enables organisations to derive the best user adoption and value from their technology, cultural and organisational environment, as well as any structural or strategic changes implemented within the business.

Sticki seeks to expose users to new developments using a gradual, specially formulated approach, combating the fatigue and subsequent resistance commonly felt with the introduction of innovation and change.

Says Craig Mitchelmore, Head of Intervate (North): "The idea sprang from noticing that many customers were acquiring certain software licences, yet were struggling to make full use of the technology that the licensing enabled. This jeopardises speedy return on investment (ROI), and ultimately, clients started reducing licensing renewals, which impacted the availability of business's important technologies to staff across their businesses. The net effect was slow-downs in digitisation shifts and productivity. The core handbrake, we noticed, was that user adoption - or technology stickiness - within organisations was slow across various enabling technologies."

With regards to technology user adoption specifically, cloud and mobility are forming the foundations of working environments today. However, technologies in these spaces are still being met with resistance and nervousness. Intervate's Sticki user adoption programme addresses this fear by highlighting efficiency at a business level, and experience at an end-user level. It aims to change the paradigm of what work looks like and how its structures are viewed, while creating an excited awareness of new technologies, features and capabilities.

According to Mitchelmore, Sticki assists with the resolution of many common challenges that organisations face with driving user adoption, helping to engender and expedite an environment of agility.

Common adoption challenges go beyond technology deployments, relating to organisational development as well as cultural, strategic and structural shifts within a business. Whether it's a lack of knowledge around how to use a technology, a commitment to 'the old ways', or frustration with achieving the desired efficiency from new technology, Sticki is designed to overcome obstacles hindering user adoption. According to Mitchelmore, this transformation takes place with stakeholder alignment and through the three phases of Sticki, which totals 55 days.

"Sticki uses a tried and trusted three-phase methodology to overcome these challenges, and make any new technology changes, well, stick," he explains. "We address the emotional aspect of technology adoption, rather than forcing people to make use of new technology. "We then move into the 'Empower' phase of each individual user through upskilling, effective communication and creating a comfortable feeling around the technology. Finally, we close out with 'Optimise' by testing the effectiveness of the technology/change adoption, and tweaking wherever it's required to ensure ongoing use."

Sticki has already found success in driving and sustaining the adoption of Microsoft Office365, and Mitchelmore is confident that Sticki will achieve equal success regardless of the technology.
