MCI, a leading provider of software solutions to medium and large-sized corporations, is proud to announce it has achieved a level one B-BBEE status, awarded by Renaissance, a SANAS-accredited B-BBEE verification agency.
"It has always been our goal to continually improve our B-BBEE status. We have finally managed to achieve this new milestone. This recognition comes as a result of hard work and a great deal of planning and investment, and we are really excited about this achievement," says MCI Director Aliki Droussiotis.
The certification means MCI is now recognised as a black-owned, black female-owned and black-designated business under the Amended ICT Sector Codes. MCI’s new B-BBEE status means it is now an empowering supplier, having exceeded the targets for the scorecard priority elements of ownership, skills development and enterprise and supplier development. It has achieved 135% B-BBEE procurement recognition, in turn translating into significant bonus preferential procurement points for its clients.
“As part of our empowerment objectives, MCI has revised and realigned our staff equity, ownership and procurement strategies to be in line with our B-BBEE plan. We believe that in an industry where there is a huge shortage of skills, training and skills development should be a business priority. We have placed a huge emphasis on skills development, not only within the company, but also by giving unemployed learners skills and hands-on experience to be successful in the workplace,” continued Droussiotis.
