After graduating with a BCom, LLB from Wits University, Nicholas Litton worked as a state prosecutor, and was later admitted as an attorney after serving articles at the Office of the State Attorney in Johannesburg. Thereafter, he practised law at Hofmeyr and Deloitte Legal, before joining WesBank as the company’s legal advisor. Litton worked at WesBank for 10 years, and before he left he was head of Operational Risk, Legal and Compliance. Litton has been head of Compliance at Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) since 2012. In order to help RMB to institutionalise a Privacy Programme, he has recently completed his CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) qualification through the IAPP and is RMB’s acting privacy officer.
