Following the success of last year's event, ITWeb has announced that Micro Focus Universe 2019, a full-day occasion, will be held, for the second year running, in Johannesburg. The event will take place at the Inanda Club in Sandton on 29 August.

Themed: 'Powering digital transformation', the event will give delegates the chance to tap into the expertise of Micro Focus executives and product specialists. "A range of interesting sessions and workshops will give them the opportunity to grow their skills and learn about the latest roadmaps and innovations. Moreover, the event will once again feature the 'Experience Zone', which will enable attendees to explore the company's entire portfolio and see product demos live in action."

Allyson Towle, country marketing manager at Micro Focus SA, says Micro Focus is the seventh largest pure-play software company in the world, and each year, showcases its solutions to customers and partners at an international event.

"This year, Micro Focus Universe is happening in Vienna, Austria on 27 and 28 March. More than 1 000 people from across the globe, including South Africa, will converge next week to hear customer insights from the likes of Rabobank, Vodafone Group, Syspro, MultiChoice and Soci'et'e G'en'erale, to name a few, as well as enjoy product expert discussions and hands-on demos on critical topics."

She says the Johannesburg event will build on the success of Micro Focus Johannesburg 2018, which hosted over 300 customers and partners, and builds on the common thread presented in Vienna, but with a local flavour. "Three tracks will cover everything from enterprise DevOps and hybrid IT, to security and mainframe modernisation."

Attendees will hear from more than 10 local customers throughout the day, and keynote speaker Braam Malherbe will beguile them with tales of heart-stopping adventure, near-death experiences and conquering the unknown.

"Delegates can expect more of 'what worked' when it comes to an excellent speaker line-up; great entertainment; silent conferencing; dynamic demo zone; and access to key Micro Focus experts both local and international. They can also expect some new additions to the day, including the SMME Chill Zone."

Several big name partners are already on board as sponsors, including Axiz, EOH, Galix and NetCB, adds Towle.

Micro Focus helps organisations of all types and sizes run and transform their businesses, giving them the critical tools they need to build, operate, secure and analyse their entire enterprise. "This event is an extension of this vision, showcasing the tools needed to bridge the gap between existing and emerging technologies, and help customers navigate their digital transformation journeys."
