Global cyber security leader CrowdStrike will return to the ITWeb Security Summit this year, showcasing its new Falcon Identity Threat Detection (ITD) and protection module and updating delegates on trends in ransomware.

Roland Daccache, cyber security expert and Systems Engineering Manager Middle East & Africa at CrowdStrike, says: “We at CrowdStrike have been a consistent exhibitor at ITWeb Security Summit in South Africa, and are very excited about returning to an in-person edition this year. Cyber security is a topic being discussed at board level of enterprises in the current threat landscape, and we want to use the opportunity to connect with cyber security and business leaders, as well as our channel community, to discuss how we can help them solve the cyber security challenges on their endpoints and cloud workloads.

As today, organisations of all sizes are being targeted, this year we would like to bring attention to our solutions at the lower end of the spectrum, in mid-market and SME organisations, as well as further our geographic expansion towards other parts of Africa.”
CrowdStrike’s experts will also present topical talks during the summit. Daccache will present a session on Ransomware and cyber extortion: Are you a low-hanging fruit?(and what to do about it) at the Security Summit in Johannesburg on 31 May, and Yassin Watlal, system engineering manager at CrowdStrike, will speak at the Security Summit in Cape Town on 6 June.
The presentations will outline the reasons for the significant increase in ransomware and the most significant cyber attacks of the year; assessing the growing ‘ransomware as a service’ trend; the role initial access brokers play in attacks; and how organisations can determine whether they are vulnerable.
