XContent donates computer hardware for Matlosana Mall Learning Centre in Klerksdorp

Johannesburg, 14 May 2022

On Saturday, 14 May 2022, Matlosana Mall, a Redefine property, opened the doors to its all-new learning centre. The learning centre is a free-to-use facility for everyone. According to the marketing manager, Pearl Sekgobela, they envisioned a place that could bring learners together into one facility that offers space such as study cubicles and educational resources.

The learning centre also provides free WiFi and books, thus providing learners with a space in which they can complete school projects while working individually or as part of a group.

When approached, Managing Director of XContent, Danie de Lange jumped at the opportunity to get involved and provide the computers for the centre. “Our aim as a technology company is to ensure that we can give back to the community within which we work. Corporate social responsibility is not so much about financial provisions but to us means providing our knowledge and skills to continue to assist the public. In this instance we were able to provide hardware and time to ensure that the learning centre in Matlosana Mall can give learners a safe space in which to learn and grow.”

“Together with our partners, XContent, Matlosana Library and Africa Maths, we aim to encourage and support the learners to study and strive to challenge their capabilities for a brighter future. We are pleased to officially open this education hub to the community and we trust it will be of benefit for all learners,” Sekgobela said.

Parents, teachers and tutors are encouraged to make bookings on behalf of the learners on the following number (064) 525 7382. The centre is open Monday - Friday 09:00 - 18:00 and Saturday 09:00 - 17:00.
