Internet Solutions is offering 10GB of WiFi data for R29, for use wherever it has an AlwaysOn hotspot.

Internet Solutions (IS) has introduced an AlwaysOn promotion that will give users 10GB of WiFi data per month for R29, for use in SA and across its WiFi hotspot footprint.

Until the end of January, says IS, anyone can sign up for 10GB of data per month for just R29 per month. The data is split evenly - with 5GB per month for access in SA and the other 5GB per month to use outside of the country through IS' international roaming agreements.

IS currently has over 1 500 hotspots in SA and more than a million hotspots internationally, across 110 countries.

Hayden Lamberti, business unit manager of enterprise mobility at IS, says the benefit of WiFi is that it is simple, and users can access information from wherever they are spending their holiday season - locally or abroad. "[Users need to visit the] AlwaysOn WiFi Web site to sign up [and] WiFi access is activated immediately."

Lamberti says, in this way, people need not use up their limited data packages unnecessarily, "but [they can save] it for when WiFi may not be available". He says WiFi is a cheaper, faster and more reliable connection.

"Once someone has signed up, they can increase their data limit, at no extra cost, by referring a family member, friend or colleague via Facebook or Twitter with their unique link that gets generated once they sign up. Once their referral signs up, an additional 1GB will be added to their account, up to a maximum of 3GB," adds Lamberti.

AlwaysOn hotspots are available throughout the country at various locations, including all of SA's major airports and transport hubs - as well as many of SA's well-known coffee shops, restaurants, bars and shopping facilities.

The AlwaysOn WiFi app also allows users to access WiFi in SA.
