Banking group Absa will provide the latest version of Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security Version 14 to its more than 650 000 Internet banking customers free of charge.

The software is designed to combat unpredictable malicious threats like phishing, spyware, spam, hackers and viruses.

Absa says the software is worth R484.50 and combines new anti-phishing security with enhanced anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-spam protection.

It also provides home network protection, such as greater parental controls, personal firewall capabilities, WiFi security against hackers and centralised management.

"Unfortunately, security threats are evolving and becoming more unpredictable, creating significant challenges for computer users at home," says Christo Vrey, GM, Digital Channel Services at Absa.
