On February 17th Embarcadero awarded special education recognition awards to several schools from different provinces in South Africa. Embarcadero is very proud to be able to support education at such a scale. The event also showcased student presentations of their completed applications written in Delphi using Embarcadero's RAD Studio.

"This is an especially proud moment for us at Embarcadero. We will continue to build on this success that promotes Delphi and computer education," said Atanas Popov, general manager at Embarcadero, who was present to give the awards.

Embarcadero's programme in South Africa is part of a commitment to support computer education initiatives worldwide, to provide students a hands-on experience with tried-and-true development tools and thus providing them with a solid foundation for a career in software development.

With more than 20 years of continuous innovation. Delphi is the de-facto industry standard version of Object Pascal. Delphi combines the ease of learning programming with the advanced capabilities for building enterprise, cloud and multi-device applications on Windows 10, OS X, iOS and Android.

Working directly with local partner Computek Networks, teachers receive educational materials and free versions of Embarcadero's award-winning software for use in high schools.

Carina Labuscagne, Chief Education Specialist from the Department of Basic Education, spoke about the benefits of programming for learning other subjects "We are very pleased with our choice of Delphi and Embarcadero's tools to support high school computer education," said Labuscagne, "Delphi is a great language that helps our students not only learn programming, but also extend their analytical skills for many other subjects. For us, the ability to standardise on a consistent, compatible platform that utilises a higher language and is easy to learn, is critical. We hope that Embarcadero continues to evolve their tools to support our ongoing needs."

"Doing Good is Good Business" said Ken Msuku, Managing Director of Computek Networks. Computek and Embarcadero aim to have many more such special moments that will propel their company, customers, and the developer community to exponential success!
