EOH unveils cloud-based business class collaboration solution for IP telephony

Johannesburg, 26 Apr 2016

EOH Cloud Services has expanded its offering for South African businesses, with the launch of a cloud-based collaboration solution for IP telephony. This new offering will provide businesses with all the traditional office phone system call features and quality, delivered via EOH Cloud Services' infrastructure, to give customers a more flexible and cost-effective offering.

Richard Vester, Director of Cloud Services at EOH, says this fully hosted solution offers lower total cost of ownership, scalabilibilty, elasticity, relevant features, integrated support with user and feature self management. "The solution is complete, competitively priced, and will give local businesses an alternative to regular telephony services, removing the dependency on an on-premises solution with its related maintenance headaches, as well as putting control in the customer's hands by enabling instant and immediate provisioning."

He adds that for years, the businesses have been adopting VOIP solutions to reduce expenses and boost productivity. "Cloud-based VOIP offers even more benefits. In addition to removing the need for physical infrastructure like PBXs and the associated capital cost, it is future-proof. As soon as new features are introduced, customers can access them without having to upgrade equipment. Given the advancements made in the EOH Cloud Manager, whereby voice functionality, among other features, has been added to enable organisations to self-provision hardware, voice and additional features - at the touch of the button. The management interface also allows for workstream approval and granular reporting. In addition, companies only need pay for the number of users in the business, and can scale easily as the organisation grows."

The EOH solution is not only suitable for larger enterprises, but for smaller and mid-range businesses too. "Now businesses of all types and sizes can enjoy the features and functionality in a hosted environment that allows employees to be completely unified, regardless of their location," Vester says. And incredibly powerful added benefit to MPLS customers is that all onnet calls across various networks are free given that EOH Cloud's infrastructure is network agnostic - a first for South African business.

EOH's business-class IP Telephony offers a compelling value proposition as opposed to a branch exchange (PBX) or other existing telephone system.

"We are delighted to announce the launch of our new cloud managed voice solution, which further enhances EOH's extensive cloud portfolio aimed at saving costs and improving efficiencies for our clients. The new solution is in line with our strategic plan to offer cutting-edge products, and it is built on mainstream IP technology but with EOH specific enhancements delivering a compelling value proposition. It is the ideal solution for customers who are not only doing businesses locally, but working with overseas entities as well. Many of our clients have multiple offices, in locations around the country and around the world, and VOIP offers an aggressively priced solution to all their collaboration needs."

EOH Cloud IP Telephony's installation is both quick and easy, and customers are guaranteed the reliability of a carrier-grade network. "Number porting can also be faciitated, so no need to change those numbers on your stationery," Vester says.

VOIP has taken the world by storm, and South Africa is no different, he concludes. "I am sure we will continue to see the migration from traditional telephone systems to VOIP offerings across all local industries. The benefits of VOIP are numerous, and cloud VOIP in particular offers a value proposition that can't be ignored for those wishing to remain competitive and focus on their core business."
