JSE-listed IT services and solutions company Faritec won three major awards at the prestigious IBM Business Partner Awards banquet held at Monte Casino on 12 March 2009.
Faritec received well-earned recognition for its contribution to the 2008 IBM financial year in the following areas:
* IBM Systems & Technology Group Top Revenue Solution Provider
* Top IBM Revenue Contributor for Middleware and Server Services
* Top IBM Software Partner
Abrie Peens, Business Unit Executive of Faritec's IBM Systems & Technology Group Division, says: “These categories represent the three areas in which Faritec focuses its efforts as far as IBM services and solutions are concerned - hardware, services and software. We are therefore thrilled to be recognised as IBM's top revenue contributor in all three of these spaces.”
Commenting on Faritec's revenue pipeline, Peens says the IBM business is extremely healthy and that Faritec will continue to devote considerable time and energy to maintaining the superior strategy and skills needed to support and execute the IBM solutions which it designs and architects.
Faritec CEO Simon Tomlinson says: “These achievements are an overwhelming endorsement of Faritec's strong, ongoing growth across the spectrum of IBM's offering in hardware, software and services. The entire Faritec team deserves congratulations on a great effort.”
The awards are presented to those IBM South Africa partners which have shown significant progress in delivering solutions and services based on IBM's product portfolio. They also recognise partners which have made inroads into new markets and developed new business opportunities.

Faritec supports the IBM System P Unix platform, System x servers, System z & IBM storage and amongst others the WebSphere, Tivoli & ISS software portfolios. The company has a large certified IBM skills base and is able to architect, configure, deploy and provide post-sales and service support around these products.
