FOXit, a national provider of project and portfolio management solutions, service and support, in association with its technology partners, will host a free industry seminar and demonstration on 7 November, to ignite a fresh spark of appreciation for technology in mining, construction, manufacturing and commercial businesses.
The company, together with Microsoft, Nintex, PwC Exordia and Syntergy, will expound on the relevance of new generation devices.
Aldo van Tonder, Chief Executive Officer at FOXit, says the next-generation technology will radically change the way information is managed, presented and handled within industry.
This showcase has direct business relevance and is not just for the 'IT guys', he adds.
His company was founded on the principle of challenging the norm. It is in this spirit that Van Tonder aims to eradicate the perception that mining/construction and similar industries are lagging behind and sombre in terms of technology development and application.
“These are important sectors in the economy, but they are often seen, for the most part, as being conservative and antiquated in terms of technology. The purpose of this event is to demonstrate advanced solutions - but also to address issues that operators face when it comes to technology integration,” Van Tonder explains.
For management at FOXit, one of the main issues is agility. At the forefront of its service to the market is awareness and support to help improve customers' ability to use technology to influence and improve operations, particularly from a project and portfolio management point of view.
The aim of the seminar is to show how and why technology can make a difference to business. This includes both practical application and the increase in credibility that embracing technology offers a business.
The agenda for the day includes keynote presentations and discussions about important topics such as workflow, achieving agility through business productivity, real-time replication of data, as well as cloud services and the future of these industries, among others.
Management at FOXit has singled out user experience as another critical aspect to be covered at the event.
“User experience has traditionally impacted on the value of experience that investors have when it comes to technology. Solutions are often complex, intricate and are not user-friendly. This event is a core part of efforts to change mindsets about technology adoption and use. If technology is powerful but simple, cost-effective but robust, user experience will change,” adds Van Tonder.
Delegates will also be eligible to win giveaways at the event, including a Windows Slate, XBox 360 with Kinect and many more.
