Fujitsu powers SMEs with versatile new server generation

Munich, 17 Oct 2013

Fujitsu today introduces two new optimised FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY Systems tailored to meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and branch offices, both based on the latest Intel Xeon E3 v3 series mono-processor platform.

The second generation of the PRIMERGY TX140 tower server delivers a robust and cost-effective all-rounder, with solid storage capacity and scalability. With the addition of new certification for VMware virtualisation solutions, SMEs can now eliminate 'server sprawl' and make more effective use of physical and virtualised data centre resources. The PRIMERGY TX140 S2's compact 4U chassis is so small and silent that it can be placed under desks.

Meanwhile, with up to ten 2.5-inch hard disk drives, the PRIMERGY RX100 S8 rack-mount server is ideal for SMEs' file and infrastructure tasks. The system also supports Fujitsu's innovative Cool-safe Advanced Thermal Design that enables it to run within a higher ambient temperature range of up to 40^0C. This way, the temperature can be increased safely by a few degrees, resulting in energy savings.

Pricing and availability

The new generation of FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY Systems are now generally available internationally from Fujitsu and its distribution partners (http://ts.fujitsu.com/resellerlocator/). This includes the PRIMERGY TX140 S2 tower server and the versatile PRIMERGY RX100 S8 rack-mount server with leading efficiency and performance as an eight 2.5-inch HDD base unit or four 3.5-inch HDD base unit. The ten 2.5-inch HDD base unit will be available in Q1 2014. Prices vary by configuration and region.
