OpenLink Software, Inc., industry and technology leader in the development and deployment of secure, high-performance database connectivity drivers for ODBC and JDBC, announces the immediate availability of its industry-acclaimed high-performance Oracle Driver for ODBC, for Mac OS X. The new Oracle Driver provides connectivity to Oracle versions 8 through 9i, for ODBC compliant Cocoa-, Carbon-, and Darwin-based applications, running on Mac OS X 10.1.x or 10.2 (Jaguar). It installs with OpenLink`s Aqua-based iODBC Administrator, and other ODBC utilities.

This product ensures that Mac OS X developers have access to the same infrastructure for developing database independent applications and drivers on the Mac, as they do in other ODBC-supporting operating environments. These drivers enable immediate, direct connectivity to Oracle database servers hosted on any platform, without installation of any other components.

"This new addition to our suite of high-performance data access drivers for Mac OS X underscores our commitment to delivering a complete Open Database Connectivity ecosystem on the Macintosh platform," said Andrew Hill, Director of Technology Evangelism at OpenLink Software. "Our ability to release a commercial grade product in such close proximity to Oracle`s Developer Release of Oracle 9i for Mac OS X confirms our technical and market leadership in this realm," he added.
