OpenLink Software, Inc., industry and technology leader in the development and deployment of secure, high-performance database connectivity drivers for ODBC and JDBC, announces the commercial release of UDA Lite version 4.2, the Single-Tier Edition of its Universal Data Access Drivers Suite. The new product release is available for the following platforms: Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Mac OS X.

UDA Lite includes high-performance, ODBC 3.5 compliant, database connectivity drivers supporting Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 and Informix, Sybase, CA-Ingres, Progress, and PostgreSQL. This suite of drivers enables UNIX, Linux, or Mac OS X based ODBC compliant applications to connect transparently and directly to these backend database engines without the installation of any additional software on Windows, Linux or UNIX based database server machines.

"UDA Lite re-emphasizes our unwavering commitment to unveiling the universal importance of database independence to application developers and end-users alike on all of the major operating platforms. We continue to provide users and developers with a comprehensive matrix of driver formats, across database engines and host operating systems, like no other vendor in this realm," said Kingsley Idehen, OpenLink Software`s President & CEO. "Windows, UNIX, Linux, and Mac developers can now work with a common set of data access drivers and SDKs, as a result of our pioneering efforts," he added.
