Motorola Solutions executives Laurent Tribout and Pieter Pienaar say SA is important for the company's business growth strategy.

SA's growing economy and evolving population has made sure any company that is doing business in the country offers solutions that support the country's evolution.

This is according to Laurent Tribout, director of sales channels Africa at Motorola Solutions.

Speaking a media briefing this morning, Tribout said SA is an important market to help drive the company's business growth strategy.

"This country is evolving and you need solutions to support this evolution. We see demand growing and that is why it is important for us to support this demand with our channel partners."

Motorola Solutions, a provider of mission-critical radio communications solutions and services, hosted a channel partner event at Montecasino in Johannesburg to introduce its new technologies and offer training to engineers on the capabilities of the new solutions.

In SA, the company works with two distributors that offer its solutions and services to various industries, including government, parastatals, police and public safety.

Tribout noted the company aims to have representatives across the continent. "We are trying to develop a channel of resellers across Africa, especially in SA, which is our core business.

"The majority of our business is managed in South Africa. We've got an office here; we have technical people, a training centre, a service centre and qualified people to support the channel."

Pieter Pienaar, Motorola Solutions senior sales manager for SA, added: "South Africa is globally seen as the technology stepping stone into Africa... We [Motorola Solutions] are the only radio manufacturer that has offices in-country with service centres in-country and approved training centres for our channel members."
