Sahara rolls out a 7-in-1 multimedia device

Music to the ears of digital lifestyle enthusiasts

Johannesburg, 07 Nov 2008

Sahara Computers, global supplier of information, communication and digital lifestyle technology, is proud to announce the arrival of the Sahara 7-in-1 multifunctional digital device - complete with DV camcorder, digital recorder, 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, MP3/MP4 player, among other key features.

This latest addition to the company's expanding range of mobile and wireless, digital lifestyle devices comes in a sleek, stylish and robust casing in either black or silver.

The user will notice a 2.5-inch large LCD display/viewing area which offers a clear, uncluttered and aesthetic presentation of information, making the management of multimedia material simple and straightforward.

In addition to MP4 files/material, this portable device can support multiple file formats and input including MP3, WMA, WMV, ASF, WAV and MPEG. It also comes standard with support for TV-output for inter-connection between the device and the television.

“The competitive pricing of the solution, together with its versatility and functionality as a music and digital video player makes it an attractive investment for the broader market,” says Gary Naidoo, deputy MD at Sahara.

The Sahara 7-in-1 device also features a two megapixel camera and photo viewer to capture, store and manage high resolution graphic files within its 4GB of built in storage.

It also comes with an E-Book function and Text File Reader feature for added convenience and allows the user to manage large volumes of data and digitally manipulate text to enhance music or video material.

“Our core message to the market is that this lifestyle solution is not simply a more sophisticated MP3 player or mobile music device. It incorporates a language translator, a range of NES games and calendar. This is a multifunctional device that has something for everyone who appreciates those convenient extra functions built into a digital entertainment and information solution,” adds Naidoo.

The Sahara 7-in-1 comes with a built-in microphone and loudspeaker to support voice recording, and also features a number of EQ settings - including rock, pop, classic, soft, jazz, etc.

“So the user really has the option to choose any particular setting and experience their music and multimedia files on different levels,” Naidoo continues. “The lifestyle market is being fuelled by a growing trend among various sectors and industries to look at opportunities to leverage off the digital technology space. The entertainment industry has long been involved in expanding its general reach using technology and allowing material to be made widely available for download onto personal devices. Sahara is at the forefront of this market development and is focused on transferring the benefits to local users.”
