Sahara's latest ImageBook helps get business on the move

Johannesburg, 28 Jan 2009

Sahara Computers, international supplier of information, communication and digital lifestyle technology, is proud to introduce its latest notebook based on Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, to the local market.

The company has expanded its range of digital lifestyle solutions and is targeting the mid-level market, more specifically users that require a feature-rich mobile solution that offers high-speed, on-the-go computing.

Sahara believes the sleek piano black finished offering will add immense value to those users within the business or corporate arena.

“The mobile professional has the benefit of a mobile workstation and multimedia device in one. There is ample storage capacity to store and digitally manipulate information and large files. It can be used to connect to e-mail, interact digitally and access the Internet immediately, has sufficient battery power to be used extensively where no power resources may be immediately available and means that data retrieval, manipulation and storage can be done at the touch of a button without any interruption or downtime. It is a very solid solution and worthwhile investment within the modern business environment,” says Gary Naidoo, deputy MD at Sahara.

The Intel Centrino processor technology enables massive performance, multi-tasking, high-definition multimedia, latest WiFi technology and longer battery life.

Key features of the Sahara ImageBook 15WS include an Intel 2GHz Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor, 2GB memory, a built-in 2.0 mega-pixel Web cam, a 15-inch TFT LCD display, a 250GB hard disk drive and a super multi-DVD writer. It includes Quick Switching Speed, a feature that automatically switches the CPU to 'hurry up and be idle' mode - in other words it is controlled to switch off all unnecessary applications or running processes that are not being used at any given time.

Naidoo states that mobile and wireless represents a key area of growth within the corporate and government space. “There is a definite need for affordable, robust and feature-rich wireless technology within these segments.”

“This is a thriving area of the market where the rate of technology adoption is increasing in order to keep up with global business development and digital communication requirements. Aspects such as corporate governance, virtualisation and network optimisation remain driving forces. This solution combines the very best in processor and chipset technology for quick connectivity and also offers a high memory and storage capacity for effective management of multimedia files,” Naidoo continues.

“The value in this offering lies in the fact that it can be tailored to suit the needs of the user, it can be customised to fulfil all requirements. Companies today are under immense pressure to perform and to generate results. We believe this solution embodies all the qualities and features that can drive a business forward. It will make a difference to people's digital lifestyle,” says Naidoo.

The solution is available through Sahara's extensive network of resellers. For more information, click through to http://www.sahara.co.za or call (011) 542-1000.
