UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today launched the next-generation version of its Agresso Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite, called Milestone 4.

A significant departure from traditional ERP systems, UNIT4 is delivering a comprehensive cloud-based ERP suite for people-centric businesses that combine new social and mobile technologies with user-led design for a new generation workforce.

Agresso Milestone 4 is available via public and private cloud deployment that is unique to the market, allowing users to choose cloud with the reassurance of specifying where and how the data is situated and delivered. Through the unique cloud capabilities of the Agresso platform, UNIT4 customers benefit from unrivalled levels of data privacy and security, portability, upgrade elasticity, functional completeness and data recovery in the event of loss or destruction of critical information.

Agresso Milestone 4 is a next-generation ERP aimed at people-centric businesses, which typically have large, mobile workforces that operate in fast-changing environments. Agresso has a uniquely people-centric design and powerful capabilities aimed at helping users complete tasks more swiftly and address issues as they arise. Milestone 4 includes advanced mobile support and natively integrated social collaboration capabilities that enable employees across an organisation to collaborate and react to new challenges, rapidly solving problems in fast-changing situations. Designed for a new generation of users, these mobile and social tools are instantly familiar and easy to use, thereby maximising productivity among highly flexible, mobile workforces.

The unique architectural design and next-generation capabilities of Agresso Milestone 4 build on its long established support for business change. In particular, they focus on supporting and improving the way individuals and teams work:

* Quick adoption: A new user experience, social capabilities that work in instantly familiar ways, and simple mobile support helps users learn to use the system and adopt new or changed processes with little or no training or support.
* Deliver more with less: New screen and process design combine with social and mobile capabilities to increase user efficiency - helping them deliver more with less.
* Solve problems fast: The social and mobile capabilities enable users to collaborate instantly to get rapid answers to questions and solve problems as they arise, a critical benefit in fast-changing environments.

A new Web app developed for tablets demonstrates the new user experience and the exciting capabilities of this next-generation ERPhttp://milestone4.unit4.com/. UNIT4 Agresso's ability to accommodate business change like no other ERP, combined with the new user-led design, front-end user experience and flexible cloud deployment options, deliver an unrivalled next-generation ERP.

As part of Milestone 4, UNIT4 is also delivering a new ERP release concept that puts an end to the common 'all or nothing' ERP upgrade approach of many vendors. Instead of the traditional 'big-bang' upgrades that create unwelcome cost and disruption to users of traditional ERP systems, UNIT4 now releases 'Experience Packs' that allow customers the freedom to choose what areas of the product to focus on in terms of timing and order of an upgrade. This approach lowers risks and cost and allows them to gain maximum value for their investment.

"Today's businesses are facing more change than ever before and they need a new kind of ERP that can meet their changing needs and those of a mobile workforce, while benefiting from 'day one' savings. Change support used to be a 'nice to have' in ERP systems, but in today's business environment it is a 'must-have'. With this launch, UNIT4 has rewritten the ERP rule-book, delivering a new kind of ERP designed for a new generation of users," said Ton Dobbe, VP of Product and Product Marketing at UNIT4.
