LG SA has appointed Annex Distribution as a channel partner in Africa for their range of notebooks.

On its part, Annex has already established a division within the company to manage its distribution operation, including the initial goal of capturing the attention of local resellers with the intention of expanding it to the retail chains.

The company says it started carrying stock this week, adding that the LG brand is a “highly respected consumer brand” in SA and Annex will offer LG a channel into corporate and government through its strong reseller network.

"We are very excited about Annex and the role it will play in furthering LG's prospects within the Southern Africa region. LG has a powerful product and brand line up that we will push to the regional resellers and the retailers," says Peet van Rooyen, CEO of LG Electonics SA.

In a statement, Annex says its strategy is to create further business opportunity by visiting retailers and resellers to offer the LG range of high quality mobile computers with a focus on channel development through Annex's strong distribution network.

"This is an exciting new development for the company. It reinforces our partnership strategy and adds value to the existing product portfolio. The LG Notebook line-up is extensive and sought-after and we anticipate a strong acceptance from the reseller as well as retail channels within SA," says Stephan Nel, Managing Director of Annex Distribution.

LG Electronics works in 115 operations including 84 subsidiaries around the world.
