Gijima's new chief sales officer, Bill Hoggarth, joins as the company continues its turnaround strategy.

Gijima has named Bill Hoggarth as its new chief sales officer with effect from this month.

In a statement, the listed group says Hoggarth has more than 30 years of executive, general management and sales experience in the ICT industry.

He joins Gijima from Dataways, a business intelligence product and services company he co-founded in 2012.

Hoggarth has lived and worked in several countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and has "established and grown innovative businesses to positions of market leadership in many different markets, most recently SA," notes Gijima.

CEO Eileen Wilton says: "We look forward to welcoming Mr Hoggarth to our executive leadership team. He has an excellent track record, considerable international experience, and has driven the turnaround for many local subsidiaries. I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to progress on our turnaround strategy."

Gijima has completed the first six months of its turnaround strategy and has, so far, achieved savings of R200 million a year without "exceeding the industry norm in terms of staff turnover".

The group announced the need to turn around yet again last September after a torrid year.

Hoggarth adds the "palpable energy and mood of anticipation around the company... augers well... for the growth and success that Gijima deserves".
