From today, every Samsung Smart TV purchased through participating retailers, will be bundled with a million megabytes (MBs) of free data thanks to a ground-breaking deal between Samsung and Vox Telecom.
"The million MBs of free Fat Pipe ADSL data being offered to Samsung customers is valid for 12 months - and is unthrottled, unshaped, high-quality bandwidth, says Vox Telecom's Gary Sweidan, Executive Head of Products and Marketing. "Our ability to offer a high quality, unrivalled Internet experience is one of the many reasons Samsung chose to partner with us."
These two revolutionary products bundled together is a first in the South African market and will undoubtedly change the way South Africans are entertained. A million MBs of data enables users to stream up to 60 000 videos, watch up to 1 000 movies, send up to 300 million e-mails or post up to two million Facebook status updates.

In order to get the full value out of a Smart TV users need to have a direct connection to the Internet so that they can, among other things, stream movies, surf the Internet and connect to social media straight from their TV. "It was important for us to supply a data service solution that would enhance the consumer's viewing experience and we, together with Samsung, believe that our Fat Pipe ADSL product was the perfect match," concluded Sweidan.
