Psigen releases non-image file capture: PSI:capture now processes any type of digital file

Johannesburg, 15 Oct 2012

Psigen Software, the leader in advanced capture and scanning solutions, is pleased to announce the release of Extended File Format (EFF) Support.

The new feature provides the ability to capture and process any non-image file type, such as Microsoft Word or Excel documents, and route them to any one of the 58 enterprise content management (ECM) systems supported through the product's migrations.

"We see enormous opportunity in solutions requiring the capture of non-image file types," said Bruce Hensley, Psigen's President. "Extending PSI:Capture's extensive capture feature set to non-image files allows organisations to capture, classify, extract and migrate just about any type of document, to just about any ECM or document management system.

"We are seeing a large number of organisations requiring the migration of large file sets from legacy ECM systems into newer, less costly enterprise systems. PSI:Capture can facilitate a seamless transfer of documents and metadata from system to system."

Utilising PSI:Capture's auto-import feature, organisations can point the product at a file structure, and through business rules and capture workflow, files can be automatically migrated to the new system in a standardised, validated process.
