Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 530 will be available from next week, at a recommended retail price of R1 609.

Microsoft's flagship Nokia Lumia 930 is now available in SA, while Vodacom has announced it will soon offer the Samsung Galaxy Alpha on an exclusive basis for the rest of the year.

Vodacom has also announced the availability of the low-end Lumia 530, in store and online from 12 September. The device will be available on Vodacom uChoose Flexi 100 for R129 per month and has a recommended retail price of R1 609.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Sony Xperia M2 Aqua (copper colour exclusive to Vodacom), Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact are also on Vodacom's latest coming-soon list, while the Lumia 830 (Tetra) will be exclusive to Vodacom. The operator has not set launch dates yet.

Device details

Unpacked at the June Windows 8.1 launch, the five-inch display Lumia 930 has a 2.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The phone also features a 20MP PureView camera, Zeiss optics and optical image stabilisation.

Microsoft says it is now available in SA in both black and white, on contracts starting at R399 per month.

Playing slightly smaller brother to the Samsung Galaxy S5, the high-end Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch-screen, measures 132.4mm x 65.5mm x 6.7mm and weighs 115g. The 5.1-inch Galaxy S5 measures 142mm x 72.5mm x 8.1mm and weighs 145g.

The Galaxy Alpha will be exclusively available to Vodacom customers from 15 September until January 2015, on Vodacom Smart S for R499 per month and with a recommended retail price of R9 979.
