Partnership enables immediate delivery of cloud services

Johannesburg, 09 Oct 2014

On the back of its partnership with cloud distributor Cloud On Demand, local cloud service provider Alto Africa has dramatically increased the speed and delivery of its shrink-wrapped cloud solutions to customers.

Alto Africa is one of sub-Saharan Africa's fastest growing cloud managed service providers. And some of the key product offerings provided by Alto include Cloud Backups for Business, Hosted Telephony and Hosted Microsoft Outlook, to name a few. The company also provides extensive consulting services where it works with customers to help them better understand their business requirements as well as help determine their cloud-based technology needs.

"We needed a cloud infrastructure partner that would give us access to a robust, stable and scalable infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) offering as well as cloud services, wouldn't compete with us and would be able to meet the changing needs of our clients," states Justin Trent, director at Alto Africa. "We found this in Cloud On Demand who had the right people, skills, infrastructure and even attitude we were looking for in a partner."

Partnering with the cloud distributor, Alto has been appointed a Premier Partner of Cloud On Demand, and is currently using the company's infrastructure to help roll our tailor-made cloud-based products and solutions for customers looking to host parts of their IT infrastructure, business applications and systems in the cloud.

According to Trent, the success of its business model to date, is directly related to its ability to work with customers to help them identify which parts of their business they want to move to the cloud, and then develop models to help them get there. No matter the size of the client's business.

"A lot of customers are keen to get their disaster recovery and backup, business and collaboration solutions in the cloud. Why? Simply because they are tired of investing in servers and hardware that have a shelf life of three years, that then also need to be updated, maintained and resourced in a Capex model," adds Trent.

According to Trent, a key benefit of doing work with Cloud On Demand is its business model. As a 100% channel-focused business there is no risk of competing with its distributor, unlike a number of cloud vendors he says are quite happy to cherry-pick the bigger deals for themselves.

"Alto Africa is a perfect example of a company that is making the cloud work for its customers, helping them move from a traditional Capex to more attractive consumption-based OPEX model in the cloud. We are looking forward to seeing just how the company evolves into the future," ends Jonathan Kropf, CEO at Cloud On Demand.
