Neotel disrupts with new broadband services at reduced prices of up to 45%

Johannesburg, 04 Nov 2014

South Africa and the world celebrated World Internet Day on 29 October 2014. Now, Neotel - a leader in the South African broadband Internet landscape = is launching new, affordable, game-changing, high-speed broadband services ? inspiring a more connected South Africa.

Sunil Joshi, Managing Director and CEO of Neotel, says: "Customers in South Africa want a service and generally do not care about the underlying technology. In response to that feedback, Neotel is delighted to announce a technology-agnostic wireless broadband service that gives a similar experience regardless of the wireless technology being used, such as LTE or WiMax etc." However, Neotel has taken it a step further - Neotel also took this opportunity to reduce the prices for wireless broadband and make it more affordable for South African business and customers. For example, a 2Mbps unshaped broadband is now available at R699 (terms and conditions apply).

The enhanced NeoBroadband Wireless services will be available from 10 November and will offer a consistent user experience and features across a future-proof, technology-agnostic, and fixed wireless access network. This offering allows customers across South Africa to access the Internet using the most appropriate wireless media available via an expanded Neotel footprint of LTE, WiMax and other fixed wireless access technologies.

The service offers Internet freedom with unshaped and uncapped speeds ranging from 1Mbps to 10Mbps and great affordability, with 2Mbps fixed wireless service at R699 per month. In today's world of communications, xDSL is no longer relevant to the needs of customers. Commenting on the rate of technological change, Joshi notes: "ADSL will eventually only be seen on the History Channel because what is now available is a real choice from Neotel and a consistently great Internet user experience."

Joshi adds: "We at Neotel thank our customers for their business and their support of Neotel. We are extremely pleased to offer innovative services for our customers' needs, while reducing prices because everything we do is to challenge the status quo in our industry and make services, such as broadband, simpler."
