Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei is now one of the few international mobile brands to offer after-sale support to customers in SA, in the form of a specialised physical store.

Huawei is opening a customer service centre in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg and one in Canal Walk, Cape Town this month.

The stores will offer onsite device repairs, training sessions, free device engraving and sell a range of accessories.

Charlene Munilall, Huawei consumer business group SA GM, says customers will also be able to have a hands-on experience with products not available in other outlets yet.

Huawei customers who have bought a high-end device, such as the P8, P9, P9 Plus, Mate S and Mate 8, can repair their smartphone free of charge, at the service centre, twice in the guarantee period.

This includes damage caused by liquid, and broken screens.

Customers will be able to hand in their broken device at the centre and fetch the repaired device a few hours later.

The stores are 'interactive' and designed to streamline the repair process as much as possible.

Customers can either pre-book a repair session online or in store.

Other smartphone manufacturers with customer service centres in SA include Apple and Samsung.
