Integrity Retail supports Freddy's fast growth in SA

Freddy, the Italian clothing brand synonymous with active wear in Italy for almost 40 years, recently opened three stores in South Africa, with plans to open several more across the country later this year.

As part of its plans to implement ambitious marketing campaigns for the brand, Freddy opted to upgrade to a more sophisticated retail software system that could support the company's rapid rate of growth and could be tailored and upgraded as the Freddy brand developed.

The Freddy team chose to invest in Integrity Retail, supplied by Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS), due to the strength and flexibility of reporting, the detailed colour and size matrix and the user friendliness of the user interface. The Microsoft-based application combines point-of-sale functionality with merchandising and distribution from one centrally controlled head office.

Freddy's Marlene Naude explained: "We needed new software as our previous system could not support the brand and its rate of growth. Specifically, we needed a higher grade system that we could adapt to our own way of working and that would deliver changes and improvements we could take advantage of as the company grows."

Integrity Retail supports multi-branch operations, inventory management, promotions, suggested re-ordering, customer contact management, vouchers, gift cards, loyalty programme, stocktaking by scanners and management reporting.

Integrity consultants worked closely with the Freddy team to ensure the conversion from their incumbent system went smoothly. Commenting on the implementation, Naude continued: "We did not experience any major issues, the conversion went well, it took a couple of working days to perfect everything.

"Our strategy begins with the opening of two more stores by April, and, by the end of the year, we plan to have stores nationwide as well as in Namibia and Mauritius. I believe we now have the right system to support this growth and I look forward to a longstanding partnership with KCS.
