EOH has been selected as the official Southern African distributor for software solutions provider Schneider Electric Software.

The ICT service provider says it will distribute the company's portfolio to organisations in the production, manufacturing and infrastructure industries within Sub-Saharan Africa. The software products include Aquis, Avantis, OASyS, Ampla, Citect SCADA, ClearSCADA, SimSci and Wonderware.

EOH says it was the logical choice to take on the distribution of Schneider Electric Software products in the region because of its existing focus on and technical expertise in the mining, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.

"Bringing Wonderware and the rest of the Schneider Electric Software business under one EOH roof in South Africa is great news for our customers," says Deon Barnard, MD of Wonderware Southern Africa.

"We are proud to be part of the depth and breadth of proven solutions, backed by some of the most knowledgeable people in the business. This is another milestone in the elimination of artificial boundaries between solutions and their functional application in the field; a great benefit to our customers who have to do it all."

EOH operates in 31 countries in Africa and the Middle East, providing end-to-end solutions across all industry verticals.

Schneider Electric Software has had a longstanding relationship with EOH, having supplied and supported the Wonderware suite of products, a partner of the EOH group, since 2003.

Zunaid Mayet, group CEO of EOH, notes: "This is a strong endorsement and great testimony to EOH's long-standing partnership with Schneider Electric Software. Schneider Electric Software's industrial software technology, combined with EOH's deep-levels of industry and technology integration expertise, will enable us to collectively better serve our clients' needs."

Mayet believes the main barriers facing local organisations in their digital transformation journey are a concrete understanding of the business objectives, the value to be derived and the skills to drive the processes and implementation.

"The true impact of digital transformation is finding meaningful business context for your industrial data and operations, and delivering actionable information to business. Value is ultimately realised by bringing together the power of technology with the efficiency of digitised business processes to empower and enable the best performance in people," he adds.

Marc Ramsay, VP Industry Southern Africa at Schneider Electric Software, says: "Partnering with EOH to support our software portfolio and collaborate on sales will improve the service to software customers and enhance the breadth of our software offering."
