Huawei hopes its artificial intelligence (AI)-inspired cloud platform will help create greater industry value and provide core support for enterprises and government institutions.

Yesterday, at Huawei Connect 2017, in Shanghai, the Chinese technology provider introduced its enterprise intelligence (EI) solution for the enterprise market, which it says is in line with AI techniques and aims to create smarter cloud service solutions.

Zheng Yelai, president of Huawei's cloud business unit and IT product line, explained that AI needs to be integrated and utilised in a holistic manner to create more value for enterprises, which is why the company has decided to come out with its own intelligent solution.

Huawei's solution integrates applications such as image recognition, dumb device identification and optical character recognition to enable general and sophisticated enterprise application scenarios. It has also been described as a solution that enables intelligent supply chain management.

The company wanted to develop a solution that truly helps enterprises to cut down the work of what manual services require in certain scenarios, said Yelai.

Cloud can fully unleash the potential of AI, he noted. "Artificial intelligence in technologies sounds very fancy but what we focused more on is the actual value of how these technologies can help enterprise and that is why we have brought AI to solve real issues and we call it EI."

Yelai adds: "Our people have an in-depth understanding of our customers' business scenarios, whether they're working in R&D, marketing, or sales. We keep a close eye on the needs of our customers, and innovate accordingly. We've developed Huawei cloud to help enterprises go digital more smoothly, and help ensure the success of more companies that are willing to innovate."
