VMware launches Cloud Verified Partners

In a move aimed at helping customers identify providers that are capable of delivering services with VMware Cloud Infrastructure technology, VMware has introduced a new class of VMware Cloud Verified partners, signified by a VMware Cloud Verified trust mark.

According to Ajay Patel, senior vice president and general manager, cloud provider software business unit at VMware, partners that have the VMware Cloud Verified trust mark have made investments in VMware Cloud Infrastructure technologies and are committed to offering core services and support on top of a common infrastructure.

VMware says the trust mark identifies VMware cloud providers that are driving business growth by fuelling innovation, improving efficiency and lowering costs for customers as they change application portfolios for a multi-cloud, multi-device world.

The first partners to be awarded this status are CenturyLink, Fujitsu, IBM Cloud, OVH and Rackspace. "Verification gives customers confidence that these providers are the best equipped to help them adopt the most advanced VMware technologies.

Patel says it will continue to introduce new Cloud Verified partners to ensure customers have a range global cloud providers to choose from, who will offer consistent infrastructure and consistent operations.

Miroslav Klaba, vice president of R&D for OVH, says: "OVH leverages experienced people from vCloud Air and our seven-year-expertise with VMware technologies to provide customers with a data centre migration or extension services from their on-premises environments to a full SDDC stack managed by OVH."

He says his organisation uses VMware HCX technologies to enable large-scale migration of workloads from legacy environments to its VMware-based cloud, adding that VMware HCX technologies give customers secure, seamless migration for apps with no downtime, across a consistent VMware infrastructure.
