Carel Potgieter, COO and executive director on GijimaAst's board, has resigned with immediate effect.
The company informed shareholders this morning that his contract had not been renewed after three years with the merged organisation.
Potgieter was previously CEO of Gijima Support Services, before it merged with the AST group.
This morning, GijimaAst CFO Carlos Ferreira said the company's parting with Potgieter was amicable, but he did not know what Potgieter would subsequently pursue.
"We had a contract where either party had the option to extend it and both chose not to do this," said Ferreira.
According to Ferreira, Potgieter is not being replaced as his duties are to be shared between existing executives.
