Open Text CM debuts on BlackBerry

Enterprise content management provider Open Text is eyeing the mobile device market and has rolled out its solution to work on BlackBerry smartphones, states IT World Canada.

Open Text Everywhere enables BlackBerry users to access enterprise content management tools across the corporate firewall.

Nigel Wallis, an IDC research director, cautions that content management has evolved and has become so broad in scope that Open Text must go mobile in order to remain competitive.

Hospitality sector gets Joomla

Hospitality solutions provider GuestCentric has integrated its booking engine Joomla, says Travolution.

This means developers using the open source Joomla content management system can integrate a hotel booking engine with rates and availability.

The technology also enables deals and promotions to be distributed to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Bluepoint appoints VP

Bluepoint Solutions, a content management solutions provider, has appointed Dan Sollis as its vice-president of business development, reports News Blaze.

Prior to Bluepoint, Sollis served as senior vice-president of business development for Infogix.

Hal Tilbury, Bluepoint founder and CEO, says: “We are confident his knowledge of the financial services industry will enable growth at Bluepoint as financial institutions look to bring item-processing in-house and replace legacy enterprise content management platforms.”
