Globacom wins Senegal licence

Africa's telecoms giant Globacom has made a bid to build the biggest network in Africa, having won a licence to operate in Senegal, reports This Day.

The licence would enable the telco to land its trans-Atlantic submarine cable, Glo 1, in the west African country with opportunities to extend the infrastructure to Mali.

Glo 1 will be able to provide international carrier services for telecoms operators in the country.
