Datacentrix Holdings says earnings could be up to 5% higher in the first six months of the year.

The company on Thursday issued a voluntary trading statement in which it indicated that earnings per share and headline earnings per share for the six months to August are expected to be between 0% and 5% higher than the first half of last year.

Datacentrix did not provide reasons for the expected increase. Headline earnings per share are a core indicator of performance.

A year ago, headline earnings per share were flat, at 26.8c, while earnings per share increased from 26.7c to 26.8c. Revenue was slightly down, at R687.6 million from R699 million in 2008.

The company is expected to publish its results on 5 October.
