Mimecast ranked seventh fastest-growing technology company in the UK, in the 2011 Deloitte Technology Fast 50

Mimecast attributes its 3102% revenue growth to its unique, unified e-mail management platform, and the ongoing shift from on-premise to cloud-based e-mail systems.

London, UK, 21 Oct 2011

Mimecast today announced that it ranked number seven in the 2011 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a list of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK.

Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years. Mimecast, which supplies cloud-based e-mail archiving, continuity and security for Microsoft Exchange and Office 365, grew 3102% during this period. The company also came sixth on the London list.

Mimecast, having come third in last year's rankings, continued its rapid expansion rate over the course of the last 12 months, and recently surpassed 4 500 customers and a million users worldwide.

Mimecast CEO, Peter Bauer, said: “Over the five-year period that Deloitte looks at, we've tried really hard to do the basics well; we have continuously invested in R&D to build a platform that helps customers solve tough and important IT problems, and we have put together an inspirational team that delights our customers and partners with their commitment and energy. It is wonderful for both the Mimecast team and our partners to receive such prestigious recognition for the second year running.”

David Halstead, the partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, said: “The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 gives great profile to technology companies and is internationally recognised as being one of the most important business awards in the sector. The 2011 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that tremendous growth rates are still possible, with Internet and software sectors showing particular strength and making up over half (56%) of the companies in the Fast 50 ranking.

“The Technology Fast 50 awards are an opportunity for businesses to gain recognition for their successes and achievements over the last five years. This year's ranking highlights the importance of finding a niche product or service to beat the recession.”
